SALT LAKE CITY Feb. 18, 2016 – Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes has released the following statement regarding the passing of former University of Utah General Counsel John Morris:
“I was quite saddened to hear of the passing of John Morris, a fellow lawyer, public servant and friend. He was a tremendous leader, serving as General Counsel at the University of Utah from the inception of the independent university counsel team in the early 1990s. He and his office worked closely and continuously with the Attorney General’s Office and he was always the model of professionalism, civility, dignity and class. It was said by those who worked with him that he treated all he met with respect, regardless of their circumstances. His leadership and contributions to Utah have benefited many in the State and he will be greatly missed.
“Our sincere condolences to the Morris family for the untimely loss of their husband and father.”
